Padmabhushana Padmashree Dr. S P Balasubramanyam

Padmabhushana Padmashri Dr. Sripathi Panditaradhyula Balasubrahmanyam (born on 4th June 1946, Konetammapeta, Nellore district, Andhra Pradesh) is not only a Legendary Singer, but also a Producer, Actor, Voice Actor, Mimicry Artist & Music Director. Balasubrahmanyam was born in a Telugu Brahmin family to S. P. Sambamurthy. His wife is Smt. Savitri. He has two brothers and five sisters. He is the elder brother of the well-known singer S.P. Sailaja. Balasubrahmanyam has a daughter, Pallavi, and a son, S. P. B. Charan. He is also popularly known as S. P. B. and Balu. Since 1966 he has sung 40,000+ songs (6,000+ Songs in Kannada) in more than fifteen different Indian languages, and still singing, including Telugu, Tamil, Kannada, Hindi, Malayalam, Marathi, English, Bengali, Oriya, Punjabi, Tulu, Sanskrit, Assamese, Konkani, Badaga and Gondi. He already entered The Guinness Book of World Records for recording the most number of songs by a Male Singer. He has won the National Film Award for Best Male Playback Singer Six times. He is a recipient of prestigious civilian awards such as the Padma Bhushan in 2011 and the Padmashri in 2001.

Balasubrahmanyam has also provided voice-overs for various artists, including Kamal Haasan, Salman Khan, K. Bhagyaraj, Mohan, Anil Kapoor, Girish Karnad, Gemini Ganesan, Nagesh, Karthik, Raghuvaran, Rajinikanth, and Vinod Kumar in various languages. He was assigned as the default dubbing artist for Kamal Hassan’s many Telugu movies dubbed from Tamil. He was awarded "Best Dubbing Artist" for dubbing for Suman in the film Annamayya.
